The first thing that I can remember about wanting to be a teacher was when I would line up all my stuffed animals in my room as if they were students in a class. Then I would sit in front of them and have a picture book and read to them. And when I say read I mean tell the story based on memory and with help from the pictures, because this was when I was maybe 5. From then on I played “teacher” with friends, with my sister, sometimes I would even force my dog to sit in front of me while I pretended to teach him. The game “teacher” at that age was just me playing. It was just my favorite thing to do, but everything changed for me one year in elementary school.
